Luiza Cavalcante started Monterei Club Magazine as a place for creatives, poets, and writers to come together and make magic. She cherishes memories of the artistic endeavors she grew up surrounded by in California's Central Valley: everything from Shakespeare in the park to garage band house shows, and is excited to create a platform that makes space for such diverse creative talent. Luiza currently lives in Orlando, FL and is taking a year off before heading to college. She spends her time as a political journalism intern, an artist, and volunteers with rural voter mobilization.
Emily Savage

Emily Savage is 20 years old. She is taking her third year away from school and will be a member of St. John’s College Class of 2025. Born in California, Emily has lived in Washington, Arizona, Utah, and Nevada, having numerous adventures and life lessons along the way. She plans to become a lawyer and artist who uses her skills to help sexual assault victims find their voice.

Danny Miserable

Danny is a Filipino-American creator from Portland, OR. His work is strongly inspired by traditional Filipino values and philosophies, which he often encounters while hiking in the rich forests of the Pacific Northwest. An avid student of Filipino revolutionaries, he also seeks to embody his cultural spirit of resistance through music and writing. While not creating, he enjoys reading such authors as Virgilio Enriquez and Maria Lorena Barros. He is currently pursuing leadership opportunities in Portland’s Filipino community as well as fighting in the Black Lives Matter movement.
Kyrah Isabel

Kyrah Gomes is 17 years old and a senior in high school in NYC. She is a jewelry designer and owner of Etherié, an online accessories shop. In her free time, she enjoys reading, writing poetry, and trying new baking recipes. Kyrah is passionate about social justice and plans to pursue a career in public health in college.
Molly Wendel

Molly is 17 and a senior in the Central Valley of California. She grew up surrounded by words and art and has a passion for both. She wants to share a vibrancy for life, learning, and culture in the work she creates. She is planning on studying biology in college but also has goals of freelancing her art and writing skills. In her spare time, she can be found painting, researching history and political theory, or simply relaxing (which she believes is just as important as all of the above).
Kessler Bowman

Kessler Bowman is a 19 year old high school graduate living in suburban New Jersey. He spends most of his free time exploring new places, either hiking in the woods or riding his bike through various stretches of suburbia where he lives. Most of this fuels his primary artistic passion of photography. He seeks to use photography as a means of sharing with others the beauty that lies out in the world waiting to be discovered. Kessler wants to find more ways to create and share his work with others.
